Four Reasons Women Choose Breast Augmentation in Texas

One of the most common misconceptions about breast augmentation is that it’s only done for reasons of vanity.  In fact, there are a wide variety of reasons that a woman might choose to get breast augmentation in Texas – including medically-motivated reasons.  However, more importantly, we believe everyone should have the right to choose the body they want, for whatever reason they want it.

We’ve handled hundreds of breast augmentation surgeries at the clinic of Dr. Eric O’Neill.  These are some of the most common reasons we’ve heard.

Four Common Reasons Women Get Breast Augmentation in Texas

  1. Asymmetrical breasts

Not every woman’s breasts grow in evenly.  In fact, most women have some variation in the size of their breasts, although the differences are usually fairly minor.  However, some women have a difference of a full cup size or more – and at that point, their asymmetrical breasts can start causing major problems.  At the least, they have difficulty finding bras and other clothing that fits, and in extreme cases, this can even lead to health or balance problems.

Breast augmentation is often the easiest solution to achieving evenly-sized breasts.

  1. Loss of size due to exercise

One secret of diet and exercise that often goes without discussion is that it can lead to a reduction in breast size.  For many women, their breasts are among the first things to shrink as they lose weight.  So, breast implants provide a new option, allowing them to keep their slimmer and healthier bodies, but without giving up the breasts they (and their wardrobe) are accustomed to.

  1. Post-pregnancy restoration

Another common reason a woman might lose breast mass is from pregnancy and breastfeeding.  Very often, after their child is weaned, their breasts will lose shape and definition.  This is usually permanent unless they choose a surgical alternative to restore their breasts to the previous shape.

  1. Resizing to fit body proportions

Our society tends to expect certain proportions in people’s bodies, and those don’t always happen naturally.  Women with a significant difference in the size of their hips and chest, for example, might choose to get larger breasts simply so they look more in line of what’s expected.
